Let’s Talk Acne (Part one)

Let’s talk acne

As long as people have had pimples, there have been attempts to clear them up quickly or prevent them all together. Those with acne search for topical answers hoping to eliminate the problem; however most people don’t make the connection between what they eat and how their skin looks. We’ve heard it before “You are what you eat.”

If your digestive system is struggling then the health of your skin will be too.  A weakened digestive system, will translate into a skin condition and in many cases that will pop out in the form of Acne, Eczema, Psoriasis, Rosacea, or any other form of Dermatitis.

Whether you show symptoms of a digestive issue or not, it’s wise to strengthen your gut and buckle down on the type of foods you’re eating.

Here’s a quick look into the reasons why…

To be of good health it is absolutely imperative that you have a good working digestive system. Your intestines are your secondary immune system. When your digestive system is down it absorbs less nutrients and a domino effect occurs concluding in a cycle of illness.

You won’t be able to digest nutrients, thus diarrhea or constipation occurs, allergic reactions, and indigestion to name a few.  And as stated above, skin conditions such as Acne, Eczema, Psoriasis, Rosacea and other forms of Dermatitis will pop up.

This is caused by an over consumption of yeast, antibiotics, alcohol, and a deficiency of EFAs vitamins and minerals (this is called Dysbiosis).

If your immune system functions in this way for too long then Dysbiosis will turn into A Leaky Gut Syndrome. This causes damage (pin like holes) in your lumen (stomach wall), then a gap develops between your stomach lining cells causing food to leak through those holes. The food falls into the blood stream, which is then tagged by your body as a “foreign object.” Your body then starts to create antibodies to fight off the intruder creating a food allergy reaction. Most food allergies are from a leaky gut and have symptoms of IBS, Eczema, diarrhea, constipation, and headaches.

If your immune system functions in this way for too long, then an Auto Immune disease can occur, such as Rheumatoid Arthritis, Lupus, Celiac Disease, Crohn’s Disease, Fibromyalgia, and Ulcerative Colitis.

Certain foods and beverages wreak havoc on the digestive system and MUST be avoided to improve the function of the digestive system, thus eliminating any adverse skin condition.

Here are some tips to improve your digestive system.

1.       1. Take probiotics (80 billion units a day)

2.       2. Drink Water ( 8 – 10oz glasses of water a day)

3.       3.Clean out your colon and eliminate toxic buildup with FIBER (4 TB a day)! Food that lingers in the digestive tract any longer than necessary will produce toxic by-products. The buildup of toxins in an unhealthy colon has been linked to skin disorders such as psoriasis. Speedy digestion is step one to maintaining optimal health and optimal skin.

4.       4. Completely eliminate Fried foods, gluten, yeast, and sugar from your diet.

5.      5.  Get on EFAs (essential fatty acids) – they have over thousands of functions in the body such as proper thyroid and adrenal activity and hormone production.

6.      6. Get on Digestive Enzymes- Digestive Enzymes are going to help break down the food you digest… and allow for nutrients to get absorbed.

7. Take a multivitamin

Make the commitment and the decision to take health into your own hands and invest in your future and the quality of it. Through better eating and healthier living, you will experience a better you! What does that mean? Naturally, you are going to look better and feel better; however, the central reward is in preparing your body to fight against degenerative disease. That means by living a healthier lifestyle you are going to place yourself into a position to receive God’s blessings for you. You will engage yourself and those around you, such as your children, into the inheritance of health. You aren’t just going to look better, and feel better, you will be in better shape to fight against degenerative diseases and long term chronic disorders!

I will go into a deeper discussion about each one of the components listed above in the days ahead; along with a few more critical necessities to add into your daily routine and diet.
